Benedictus de Spinoza, De nagelate schriften. [Amsterdam: Jan Rieuwertsz., 1677]. 4to.

After Spinozas death in 1677 all the manuscripts of his finished and unfinished works were delivered to Rieuwertsz, according to his wish. Rieuwertsz. published the posthumous works in Latin that same year; the Dutch translation by Glazemaker also appeared in 1677. In some copies of this edition, a portrait was inserted, which is considered the most trusted representation of Spinoza, of whom no portraits are known during his lifetime, except for one recent discovery: a painting by Barent Graat made in 1666 (exhibited in the EFM).
